The Bolt Hole is a luxurious two storey detached Brigg special cottage set in the award winning holiday village The Bay, Filey.

Traditionally styled in brick, the cottage has 821 sq ft of living space. On the ground floor the porch area leads to a generously proportioned hallway with cloakroom and W/C.

The 'L' shaped living, dining and kitchen area has a fully fitted kitchen, with Bosch appliances, French doors leading onto a garden area to the patio and BBQ and a feature fireplace and log burner. On the first floor you will find one master king size double with memory foam mattress, ensuite shower and one twin bedroom with luxury ensuite bathroom featuring an overhead rainfall shower.

We want to give you peace of mind when booking with us at The Bole Hole so we have introduced new cleaning regimes and will leave a full schedule on your arrival. This includes a sanitised key box, all high touch points such as lights switches, handles and TV remotes. For your safety we have also removed DVD’s, books, games and magazines.

We are pleased to have been given the ‘We’re Good To Go’ Industry Standard for adhering to all Government guidelines for COVID-19.
So rest assured that your safety, and ours, is key to what we do.

The Bolt Hole has a well stocked kitchen featuring a Bosch oven & hob, a microwave, kettle and toaster plus a Dolce Gusto coffee machine with selection of pods ready for your stay. You will find a full sized fridge/freezer along with a Washer/Dryer and a Dishwasher ready for your use.

Outside you will find a brick built BBQ ready to dine al fresco with plenty of space to enjoy the sunshine.

Two Fantastic En-Suite Bedrooms

On the first floor you will find the Master king sized en-suite with it's luxury rainfall shower. For extra comfort the bed features a memory foam mattress and there is ample space for hanging clothes in the built in wardrobe.

The second twin en-suite bedroom features a bath and luxury rainfall shower overhead. There is also a built in wardrobe and both bedrooms have blackout blinds and curtains.

How far is it to the beach?

The beach is a short 10-15 minute walk from the cottage down the beach road down through the meadows. You can see the proximity on the map here. It is no longer possible to drive down to the beach unfortunately, but once you have seen how close it is, you will realise that it really is not that far at all and a lovely walk to enjoy.

Is there any wifi at The Bolt Hole?

Yes, we have BT infinty so you can be rest assured on speed for streaming films and for those who rely on speed if work should pop up.

What types of payments do they take at The Bay?

The John Paul Jones Public house, The Bayside Kitchen and the leisure centre all take credit and debit cards as payments as well as cash of course.

If I book, do I pay all at once or in bits?

The deposit is £125 10 weeks before your stay.

Is there a security deposit when staying?

No a security deposit is not taken. We understand accidents happen like at home for example with a broken mug so we wont charge for these. But if there is something significantly damaged or missing then we will contact you, so please let us know in advance.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

We always advise guests that what we provide certain complimentary items such as dishwasher tablets, cloths, washing up liquid, tea towels and fresh toilet rolls for each toilet but after these are depleted then you will have to provide your own. We do not provide cleaning products due to the nature of such items being difficult to manage between stays and certain regulations on COSHH which is the law that requires the control of substances that are hazardous to health which cleaning product fall under..

What are the check in days at the Bolt Hole?

Check in day's are friday, saturday or a monday and constructed in such a way to coordinate with popular periods i.e short weekend breaks and weekly stays.

Can I bring my dog to the Bolt Hole?

No, unfortunately not sorry. The Bolt Hole is a pet free property. A pet free unit means that there has never been any animal in the property during it's use.

Is the Bolt Hole a non smoking property?

Yes the cottage is a non smoking property.

Are the facilities open all year round?

Most of the facilities are open throughout the year, however some are closed on days such as Christmas Day. The Bayside Kitchen opens seasonally usually from Easter until Autumn, check with reception at The Bay.. The leisure complex offers a different timetable of activities during the peak and off peak periods.

Can we use the pool and the gym?

Yes of course. The pool & gym pass entitles our guests entry to the facility by way of a pre coded swipe card you will receive when checking in at reception. Please remember to bring your own towels to the pool as they are not provided.

Is there a cash machine at The Bay?

Yes, there is an ATM in the John Paul Jones Public house.

Does the Bolt Hole have a sea view?

Unfortunately no. The rear does look out over a lake and golf course which is nice.

Is there any building work going on at The Bay?

The Bay are building some more holiday lodges on The Meadows in Summer/Winter 2020/21 but this is at the other isde of the site. No noise or disturbance will be encountered while staying at The Bolt Hole.

Where can we get logs for the log burner?

Logs can be bought from the Jet garage nearby here.

Do you have a travel cot and high chair?

Yes, on booking you can choose these items in your holiday package.

Do you supply baby gates?

Unfortunately not.

Can we bring our bicycles?

Yes indeed, however if you want to travel lightly you can hire bicycles from the Leisure Centre.

Do I need a fishing licence for the lake?

Yes, the lake operates under the national governing body for fishing and has a charge of £5 per day for fishing.

Are the activities like sea scooters free?

Unfortunately not. Please visit the bays website for full details on activities and prices.

Where can I get groceries? Is there a shop onsite?

Although there is no actual shop on the park there is a local mini mart within walking distance or 2 minutes drive here so for most people staying at The Bay is no different to home in this respect. See below for where the local Tesco is.

Can I get an online supermarket to deliver to The Bay?

Yes of course you can. Yes, Tesco & Sainsburys both deliver on site.

The Bayside Kitchen and Courtyard is now open following an extensive refurbishment. The beautiful wood-panelled restaurant has a real pizza oven and the enclosed courtyard area to the rear offers a romantic dining experience with table service. Our tasty tapas and stone-baked pizza can be accompanied by fine wines or a freshly-prepared cocktail.

Owned by Susie & Rob Bradley 'The Bolt Hole' sets itself apart from a normal Brigg cottage at The Bay, featuring a fully enclosed rear garden and due to a tweak on the first floor layout, the Bolthole has two ensuite bedrooms.

The couple commute regularly from York before each check in to ensure their guests are wowed with the presentation of their beautiful holiday home along with personal touches on every checkin.
